The WISL Dispatch System is
a collection of modules which handles both the record-keeping aspects of
the dispatch process and the interface between dispatch and terminal
functions. The Dispatch system consists of four major components: the
pick-up dispatching system, the shipment auditor routine, the dockside
functions, and the delivery dispatch system. Additional facilities
include comprehensive shipment tracking and tracing, trailer status
maintenance and inquiry along with interfaces to paging, rating/billing,
EDI and routing facilities.

- interfaces
-
In utilizing WISL
Dispatch for pick-up control it would be desirable to have the
user's customer data base accessible(directly or in copy form)
to insure integrity in the process.
-
If it is desired to utilize
WISL Dispatch for cross dock with WISL BFS then provision would
be made to utilize the BOL records generated in WISL BFS as the
basis for Delivery Dispatch.
-
-
- customization
-
Specific reporting
and data entry procedures may be required to address various
aspects of the terminal management facility.
-
-
- training
-
Clerical training
would be required for all functions of WISL Dispatch.
-
-
- integration issues
-
Integration would
likely be desired with the corporate customer data base.
