Two major interactive facilities comprise the FAIS Route Analysis module:

• The Rate Inquiry facility provides automatic rating upon entry of the characteristics of a shipment. A specific carrier, a group of carriers, or all recorded carriers may be considered. Service level and region specifications can be used to restrict the applicable quotes for the rate determination process.

• Many rate quotations are generated as the result of a brief telephone conversation. The objective of the quote modelling facility is to collect the necessary information, within the context of a telephone discussion, to enable the generation of a record that will permit the production of a printed quote and allow automatic rating. Quotes generated using this facility may be maintained using the rates maintenance module.

• - interfaces

  FAIS Route Analysis provides for integration with the PC Miler routing facility to provide input for milage rating.

• - training

Clerical users must be trained in the data entry facilities of FAIS Route Analysis.
